After years of enjoying watching others' episodes, my first full-scale SMBX2 episode is in development, planned for a 2025 release! But guess what... you can play a demo right NOW!
That's right, the demo for Super Mario and the Great Flood is now available! Super Mario and the Great Flood is a classic-styled Mario adventure made with mainly vanilla SMBX2 assets. In it, you will explore various environments and settings at your own pace through the doors in Peach’s Castle, combining the collectathon structure of 3D Mario games (like Super Mario 64) and the world map structure of classic 2D Mario games. The difficulty will be accessible to start but ramp up to be fairly higher than most official Mario games, nothing kaizo or anything like that, but it will challenge you.
Plot Synopsis:
When a large-scale disaster strikes the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario must spring into action once again! A massive storm has flooded the land, leaving only several islands standing. Join Mario on an epic adventure through the remnants of the kingdom as he collects the Power Stars to bring things back to normal! Along the way, meet a cast of supportive characters, make use of power-ups and items to help you along your way, and discover secrets as you try to get down to the bottom of this mystery. Was Bowser behind this flood, or are there more sinister forces at play?
The demo contains the first four worlds of the game, and a total of 25 Stars to collect.
